The UC has entered into agreements with several unions to accept the retirement choice program described by the regents. The UC will negotiate in good faith with other unions. Until the end of the negotiation process, members of other unions are covered by the provisions of their existing employment contracts. The UC Retirement Choice Program came into effect on July 1, 2016 for eligible new employees.
